NEW MD APPOINTMENT AT CHPD

Leadership development consultancy, the Centre for High Performance Development (CHPD), has appointed Birthe Mester as managing director business development.  Birthe was formerly a senior client director at CHPD.

The appointment took effect on 1 November 2006 and Birthe takes up her board position immediately.  The role is global and encompasses client development, client services, new business and client delivery.

Commenting on her appointment, Birthe said:  “Providing consultancy to clients is my core area of expertise, so I’m delighted with this promotion.  One of the biggest challenges for any business is to keep all teams working together towards the same goal at the same speed to provide the best service it can to its customers. This is particularly important in times of growth and international expansion, like that currently experienced at CHPD.”

Birthe is a former German Diplomat, bi-lingual in English and German and has a background in law, macro-economics and psychology.  She has worked across Europe, in Central Asia and North America, in a range of industry sectors.  Birthe continued:  “I’m delighted that in this role, I can fully use my international experience of many different cultures.”

Birthe will continue to lead CHPD’s research and activity on ‘Women in Leadership’.  She recently took part in a panel debate at the London Business School Women in Business 2006 Conference on ‘challenging gender stereotypes and the role of choice’.

Birthe joined CHPD in September 2003.  She divides her time between London and Salisbury.
